About The White Cane Society

The purpose of the White Cane Society and Precision Drill Team is to enrich the lives of sight impaired people by providing a nurturing environment where they can participate as a team to march in parades and other community events along with other low-vision people. Participation provides members with the opportunity to get out into the fresh air and sunshine, form new friendships, and build self confidence, all while raising awareness of the sight-impaired community.

Founded in the summer of 2008, our first parade was in October of that year in the Tustin Tiller Days Parade, in Tustin California. Capitalizing on that first success, and with the cooperation of the Tustin Host Lions Club, we were invited to march with the Lions International Float in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, January 1, 2010. Since then, we have been actively recruiting new members with the goal of forming additional local chapters throughout the rest of California, and eventually the United States.

The White Cane Society and Precision Drill Team is actively seeking new and exciting events in which to participate. For more information on becoming a member, or to request the participation of The White Cane Society and Precision Drill Team in your event, please contact us.
